Developing an Online Service Delivery Structure
The public facing portion of thelearninglibrary.net requires the use of custom post types since the planned resources need to be linked to and used by multiple applications such as WordPress, Moodle, SuiteCRM, and ePortfolio.
Custom Post Types
One of the first deviations from typical WordPress design of this site was the creation of custom post types. This was done so that different types of content could be easily classified and recognized as independent datapoints.
The model is reminisent of a graph data structure the provides bilateral data relationships. The plugin Advanced Custom Fields allows for the creation, management, and importing of Field Groups, Post Types, and Taxonomies.
